Welcome to Athens Power Rankings. In the spirit of sports rating systems, through painstaking analysis, we rank the top movers and shakers in the Classic City each week. Who's hot? Who's not? Find out below.

1. Todd Gurley

Gurley put up typically impressive numbers in his first game back, helping Georgia to its biggest win of the season. Then, after all that, this, which is just about as cruel an outcome as there could possibly be. The regular power ranker earns one last spot at the top.

2. Waffle House

It's not all doom and gloom in the wake of the Gurley injury: Wednesday, you can eat for free at the downtown Wa-Ho. You guys got really excited about it.

3. Jason Thrasher

The local photographer (and frequent Flagpole contributor) opened an Athens music photo exhibit in the Atlanta airport's atrium last week. Check this week's paper for more.

4. Regina Quick

The state representative introduced a plan to increase transparency among local governmental bodies.

5. R.E.M.

The band broke up in 2011, but don't look now: In Athens, they're kinda having a moment.
