Downtown Building Catches Fire

A shack or storage facility located behind the law offices of Scott, Wells & McElwee off Pulaski Street and Hancock Avenue caught fire tonight.
Officer Clint Dieball of Athens-Clarke County police said the building was "filled with numerous papers, books, documents," which probably exacerbated the flames.
At the time of this post, the firemen had just put out the fire and were waiting until it was safe to start investigating the cause.
