The Drive-By Truckers are gearing up to release American Band Sept. 30. As we inch closer to the 2016 presidential election, it's looking like the album will be the group's most politically charged effort yet.
First we heard "Surrender Under Protest," a Mike Cooley-penned anthem that commemorated the victims of the South Carolina church massacre. Now comes the album's second single, a Patterson Hood number called "What It Means."

It's been many moons since we've gotten to enjoy a new Cinemechanica studio recording. The Athens math-rock band's most recent release is 2008's Rivals EP; its last full-length, The Martial Arts, came out way back in 2006. Thankfully, the group is set to make up for its lengthy absence with the self-titled Cinemechanica, out Sept. 23 via Arrowhawk Records.
