R.I.P. Athens Musician Allen Owens

Allen Owens, a longtime Athens rock guitarist and friendly music-scene fixture known for his work with bands such as Pride Parade, Kinky Waikiki and Powerload, has passed away, according to posts on social media.

In addition to his presence on the live scene, Owens taught guitar to many budding local musicians, having also worked as an instructor in Nuci's Space's Camp Amped program.  

Tributes have started pouring in on Owens' Facebook page from friends and fellow musicians:
