Voting is from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 26 and on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Board of Elections and Voter Registration, 155 E. Washington St. Remember to bring a photo ID.
Election Day is Tuesday, Mar. 1.
Clarke County School Superintendent Phil Lanoue will take a position leading the Fulton County school system later this spring.
Lanoue announced the move in an email to CCSD parents this morning. Fulton County also issued a press release saying that he is the sole finalist and will be formally offered the position after a 14-day comment period. Lanoue said that a date has not been set, but Fulton County said he will take over May 1.

Oconee County Board of Commissioners Chairman Melvin Davis sent out an email message Wednesday afternoon saying that he plans to retire when his current term ends on Dec. 31 rather than seek reelection for what would be a fifth term.
Commissioner John Daniell told me in a telephone conversation that he will seek the chairmanship position.
The new owners of the once-famed “Pride of Athens,” the ballroom at The Georgian, showed off their plans to restore it at an Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation event on Monday.
South Kitchen + Bar owners Kirby and Stephanie Sims, who also own Trappeze Pub and Highwire, are buying the ballroom from Chris Blackmon, owner of Rent Athens, another business in the building.
Several hundred Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation members filled the ballroom Monday, the more curious wandering through the halls and unused rooms of the former Palm Room, which has been sectioned off from the ballroom.
