Peaches Has Been Torn Down

The former soul food restaurant Peaches' building on West Broad Street was torn down today to make way for Saucehouse, a barbecue joint. Peaches owner Glenda Brown, meanwhile, is re-opening the restaurant in the former The Camp in Homewood Hills, where she had been cooking since closing on Broad.

Watch President Obama Give a Shout-Out to a Clarke Central Advisor
President Obama announced a new initiative Thursday to help low-income students attend college. In his speech, Obama mentioned Lawrence Harris, a University of Georgia graduate who's now a college advisor at Clarke Central High School.

A University of Georgia student was found dead in his East Campus Village dorm room Tuesday night after his suitemates called housing officials to say they thought something was wrong.

Moral Mondays Are Coming to Georgia
North Carolina's Moral Monday protest movement is coming to Georgia.
The Georgia NAACP is organizing its first Moral Monday rally at 4 p.m. today outside the state capitol to urge Gov. Nathan Deal to accept federal funding to expand Medicaid. Rallies on subsequent Mondays will focus on other issues.
