Charles Knapp Named Terry College Dean
Former University of Georgia President Charles Knapp is coming back to UGA.
Incoming President Jere Morehead named Knapp interim dean of the Terry College of Business today, replacing Robert Sumichrast, who is leaving for a similar position at Virginia Tech. Knapp, who preceded Michael Adams, will serve for one year while a permanent replacement is sought.

UPDATE: Athens Civil Rights Leader Evelyn Neely Has Died
Evelyn Neely, a civil rights pioneer nicknamed the mayor of East Athens, died on Monday at the age of 88.
Starting in the late 1960s, Neely and three other East Athens women—Miriam Moore, Virginia Walker and Jessie Barnett—fought for equal rights and government services in the local black community.
