Bobcat Goldthwait and Dana Gould have canceled tonight's 40 Watt show after the two comedians were injured in a car wreck in Atlanta Thursday evening.

Photo Gallery: Classic Center Flyball Tournament
A regional flyball tournament at the Classic Center last weekend brought some very good puppers—and their people—to Athens from all over the Southeast.
In flyball, two teams of four dogs each race over a series of hurdles, then trigger a spring-loaded box to release a ball that they fetch and carry back to their handlers. The sport provides dogs with mental stimulation and physical exercise while creating camaraderie among teammates and building a bond between canines and their human handlers.
The annual tournament took place July 13 and 14 and was hosted by Double Dog Dare, a flyball club out of Winterville.

Michael Thurmond Signs New Edition of Athens Black History Book Saturday
Athens native Michael Thurmond will sign copies of A Story Untold: Black Men and Black Women in Athens History at The Classic Center from 4–6 p.m. Saturday.
Thurmond has updated the book for its 40th anniversary.
In 1986, Thurmond became the first African-American elected to the state legislature from Athens since Reconstruction. He served as state labor commissioner from 1997–2010, becoming the first non-incumbent African-American to win a statewide race in Georgia. After a failed run for Senate, he became superintendent of the DeKalb County school system, and was elected CEO of DeKalb County in 2016.

Organizers Cancel Athens Spring Fling
The Athens Spring Fling, scheduled to take place Saturday at Southeast Clarke Park, has been canceled by organizers due to the threat of bad weather, according to a post on the event's Facebook page.

Boulevard Gardening Club Hosts Annual Roving Garden Party

The Roving Garden Party, hosted annually by The Boulevard Gardening Club, is a festive event well worth donning your straw hat to beat the heat for. This year, these creative, urban gardeners offered up six gardens in the Lyndon-Cohen-DuBose corner of the Boulevard neighborhood, where visitors could explore the concepts of renewal and new growth. Most of the homes on tour had been built within the past 10 years; the small, accompanying outdoor spaces offered lovely views into the early stages of making a garden.

Chelsea Clinton Is Coming to Athens Wednesday
Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton will be in Athens on Wednesday to sign copies of her fifth children's book, Don't Let Them Disappear, about endangered species.
Clinton is scheduled to visit Avid Bookshop's Prince Avenue location at 7 p.m. There will not be a talk or a reading; she is only signing books.
Tickets are required. They'll run you $21.60, but include a copy of Don't Let Them Disappear and will admit up to four family members. Tickets are available on the Avid website until noon Wednesday; after that, call Avid at 706-352-2060.
