'TrueSouth' Watch Party Tuesday, Autumn Harvest, LatinxFest and More Food Events
Fall events are starting to pop up on the calendar, and you can expect a busy October and end of September. Here are some of the food-related ones.
If you've been watching the SEC Network, it's likely you've caught the trailer for "TrueSouth," a new show from professional Southerner and food writer and one-time/sometime Athenian John T. Edge. The Athens episode premieres this Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., and there's a watch party that starts half an hour earlier at Normal Bar.

The Old Pal Hosts Book Launch, Transmet Is Now Starland and More Food News

Local food writer/Crop Stories editor/bartender/teacher/et al. André Gallant's first book, A High Low Tide: The Revival of a Southern Oyster, comes out via UGA Press on Sept. 15, and you can come celebrate its release, check out The Old Pal's new cocktail menu—the Normaltown bar is also hosting the event—and enjoy oysters from Seabear on Monday, Sept. 17 from 5–9 p.m. Can't make it? Maepole and Koa Bowls Are Open, and More Food News
Peter Dale's Maepole, a veggie-focused fast-casual place on Chase Street, between Boulevard and the Loop, is softly open, from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday). You can see the menu here.

Tickets Available Saturday for Limited Edition Creature Comforts Saison

The Arcadiana label was designed by Creature Comforts staffer Melissa Merrill.
It won't be available for another two weeks, but you can go ahead and get your ticket tomorrow for the release of Creature Comfort's latest limited-edition cellar beer.
Arcadiania is a saison that was originally released in 2015, but this time, it has a twist: The latest verson was aged in wine barrels from Yonah Mountain Vineyards, located in Cleveland, about an hour and a half up Highway 129 from Athens. Combined with American hops and Creature Comfort's house yeast culture, the barrel aging imparts citrus and berry notes to the tart saison.
$60 tickets to the July 21 release party can be bought here and come with 36 ounces of draft samples, food pairings, stemware, two 750-milliliter bottles of Arcadiana and the opportunity to purchase more.
