If you still miss Rashe's Cuisine, and its delivery option isn't enough for you, you might want to know that Rashe Malcom is launching an Indiegogo to purchase a food trailer. It kicks off tomorrow, Friday, Mar. 23, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Jittery Joe's Roaster on Barber Street. The AthensMade-sponsored event will offer free samples of Rashe's food and lunch plates for $10, with profits going toward the food trailer.
Creature Comforts is finally releasing its fourth year-round offering, Reclaimed Rye, in cans this Saturday.
The amber ale—named for the reclaimed wood that local carpenters Oneta Woodworks used to make the brewery's long tables and benches—is aged with French oak spirals and is 5.5% ABV. It joins IPA Tropicalia, pilsner Bibo and berliner weisse Athena as year-round canned offerings.
"We have wanted Reclaimed Rye in cans for three years," CEO Chris Herron said in a news release. "It is a favorite beer around the brewery and in the market, but capacity restraints have kept it as a draft-only offering."
However, with Creature Comforts set to open a second brewery in Southern Mill off Chase Street this spring, capacity is no longer an issue.

Sakura's second location, in Five Points, next to The Pine, is open! Yay! It does not appear to have a Facebook page or be reflected on the original location's website, but it's doing lunch and dinner business. Woo!

Four Fat Cows, an ice cream place out of Alpharetta, is officially open at 723 Baxter St., near the intersection with Harris Street, in the space that previously housed Always Baked. The Athens location (which is only the second to open) has its own Facebook page and will start regular hours Friday of 7 a.m.–10 p.m.
Owner Robyn Rowles says she picked Athens because "one of our employees that has been with us for years goes to school here and is going to run this location for us.... We also love Athens and the UGA football team." She plans to open a couple more locations in Atlanta this year.
With 1000 Faces vacating its spot in the DOC Building on Barber Street, across from the Habitat Re-Store, local entrepreneur/restaurateur/unofficial mayor of Normaltown Bain Mattox saw an opportunity in the space. His newest project, Buvez, should open there around March, with coffee, drinks, snacks and light breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mattox's wife, Amanda Kapousouz, said, "In an effort to continue the great community vibe started by our friends over at 1000 Faces and bring in ideas we are inspired by in other areas of the country, we are looking to open a space in the spirit of what Bain knows best: drinks! Hence, the name: buvez [which means 'drink' in French]!"

Akademia Brewing Co.'s beers will soon be available at on draft at other restaurants, as well as bars and package stores, in Athens and Atlanta after the local brewpub partnered with Georgia distribution company Modern Hops.
The first local locations where Akademia's beer will be sold are Catch-22 Gastropub, Blue Sky Bar and the growler shops at both Five Points Bottle Shop locations. By the end of the year, Akademia hopes to branch out throughout Athens and Oconee County, metro Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah, Akademia owner Matt Casey said a news release.

Rashe's Cuisine, at 211 Tallassee Road, is unfortunately closed at that location. Last week, pipes froze and burst, resulting in a flooded restaurant. Then the owner of the building sold it to another restaurant. It's a bit of a bummer, as Rashe's has been perhaps the most successful tenant in the space since it housed Cali N Tito's, years ago.
It's true: Everyone's favorite homophobic-yet-delicious fast-food chicken chain is coming to downtown Athens.
Rumors that Chick-Fil-A would move into the prime space at the corner of Broad Street and College Avenue most recently occupied by burger chain Five Guys have been confirmed by documents filed with the Athens-Clarke County Planning Department.
The building is in the downtown historic district, and Chick-Fil-A has applied for permission to make changes to the facade:
