Today marks the official release of the long-in-the-making new album from Athens songwriter/rabblerouser Timi Conley and his Kite to the Moon trio: the expertly named Songs in the Key of OMG. To celebrate the record's release, the band will play the Georgia Theatre rooftop this Friday, Aug. 21, after Moon Taxi plays the inside stage.

The Wrecking Ball ATL festival was held at the Masquerade on the weekend of Aug. 8 and 9. A huge number of emo, hardcore and pop-punk bands gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the historic Atlanta venue and its enduring legacy.

To commemorate the opening of the downtown location of international youth culture and ill-advised design emporium Urban Outfitters, which finally opens its doors this week, buzzy Portland, OR psychmongers Unknown Mortal Orchestra will play an outdoor show in the Creature Comforts parking lot on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 8:30 p.m.
According to pictures posted to her Facebook page—as well as multiple news outlets—B-52s singer Kate Pierson married her longtime partner, Monica Coleman, in a ceremony in Hawaii earlier this week.
Well, we made it to Cardiff. We found the venue pretty easily (it was located across from a giant castle), pulled down a side street to load in the gear and went to find a parking garage. We killed time before the show by going to get some dinner at this cheap-ass but deceptively fancy restaurant. Then we went to a Sainsbury’s and got some snacks: digestive biscuits and whatnot. Then we walked back to the venue and played our show.
As I write this, we are making the jaunt from Liverpool to Cardiff. It’s been a couple of dayssince the last update, so let’s see what all we can remember.
