Athens-based alt-rock band Grand Vapids has quickly established itself as a force on the local scene, gigging tirelessly and releasing a fantastic debut LP, Guarantees, earlier this year (Flagpole review).
Today, we're pleased to premiere a video for the album's lead single, the thunderous "Adequate."

R.I.P. Athens Musician Carl Lindberg
Carl Lindberg
The sad word spread around town this evening that Carl Lindberg, a well known and highly respected Athens musician known for his work with groups like Grogus, Old Skool Trio and Squat, has died.
Flagpole has not yet been able to confirm the cause of death, but tributes have begun pouring in on Lindberg's Facebook page.

Q&A With the Method Actors' Vic Varney, Playing Flicker Thursday
Songwriter Vic Varney is known to Athenians for his work with post-wave punks The Method Actors. Since his time in Athens, he has focused on a solo songwriting career. The New York City resident plays Athens for the first time in over a decade on Saturday, Jan. 31, when he takes the stage at Hendershot's.
Flagpole caught up with Varney for a chat.
