The storefront on the northwest corner of Clayton Street and College Avenue downtown was once home to Wuxtry Records, until the record store moved into the larger space next door in 1989. Most recently, the former location served as an eat-in area for Ike and Jane's nearby stand. Now, Wuxtry is again reclaiming the teensy space (the store housed its used-CD selection there for a brief stint), reopening it as a spot to buy bargain-priced used vinyl.
Despite recent local weather patterns that would seem to counterindicate this fact, it is, indeed, the middle of summer out there. And summer, as we all know, means festival season. This weekend, July 19-21, Flagpole will head up to the positively balmy burg of Chicago, IL to bear witness to the seventh annual iteration of one of the most consistently consistent summer fests in recent history: the Pitchfork Music Festival.

A 16- screen movie theater is opening Friday at Epps Bridge Centre, the new outdoor mall on the Oconee Connector. It'll have 3D, digital surround sound and five-story screens, but the best part? Beer!
Got computer skills and want to use them for the common good? Check out Hack for Athens this weekend.

Y'all, with all the other things going on in town this weekend (too many to list), it would be easy to overlook the Classic City Brew Fest, which happens on Sunday, April 7, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Foundry Park Inn/Melting Point.
So it seems like (knock wood) spring is finally here for real, which doesn't mean no more cold snaps but warm days should outnumber icky ones for a while. That also means it's time for the return of the Athens Farmers Market, which kicks off this season this Saturday (Apr. 6), starting at 8 a.m. in Bishop Park.
FRIDAY, MAR.8
